I have switched off experimental features.
yet still get the no such file message

At which files are you looking at? I suspect you are looking at the wrong files.
The active Database connections are placed in app/modules/connections
And per target in:
.wappler/targets/target_name/files/app/modules/connections
When you choose an active target, the target connection files are copied to app/modules/connections. To become active
This issue was resolved some Wappler updates ago.
