Is there an easy way to do a find and replace on a single file only?

did you try cmd + f ?

Cmd/Ctrl + F
Then click the arrow on the left to dropdown the replace box.

One more option: Ctrl+H to bring up both Find and Replace fields (Option+Cmd+F on Mac). This feature has shortcuts for just about every option, displayed as tooltips, eg:
