Great news, glad it worked out.
There is no need to remove the inner-text attribute, just apply the formatting to it. The table generator uses it for faster rendering and to improve the rendering quality especially for huge data sources.
Just select your table cell, in app structure panel, under properties scroll down to dynamic attributes and you will see the inner text dynamic attribute. Add your styling to it, no need to insert {{text bindings}} on the page 
As per my comment above @Teodor but figured with how frustrated the poor guy was becoming it was faster and easier to just do it the easy way. LOL
