Add AVIF Support to the Image Processor

Wappler already supports WebP conversion, which is fantastic for modern image optimisation. Adding AVIF output to the Image Processor would be a natural next step and a major performance win.

Why AVIF?

  • ~93% global browser support and still rising
  • Smaller file sizes than WebP and JPEG
  • Higher visual quality at lower bitrates
  • Ideal for Core Web Vitals and bandwidth‑sensitive sites

Why It Fits Wappler The existing Image Processor pipeline already handles resizing, quality settings, and WebP generation. Extending this to include AVIF would allow developers to generate AVIF + WebP + fallback JPEG in a single workflow, matching modern best practices.

Proposed Addition

  • Add AVIF as an output format
  • Include basic quality/speed settings
  • Keep UI consistent with WebP options

This would future‑proof image workflows and give Wappler developers access to the most efficient image format available today.
